I was reading a book on my deck, when I noticed my cat Basie focused on something in my back yard. Usually, it is some bird or a squirrel but to my surprise it was a male black tail deer. I saw him again a week or so later.
It's a wonder to me how or why he got here. We often have raccoons or opossums because we're near a creek. To the west is the giant intersection of I5 and I405 forming a formidable barrier to the west and southeast. Over the years the surrounding area has been built up extensively and there are no obvious pathways for him to take to get into my backyard.
