Wizard Wolrd Philly (June 20, 2009)This was Will and I's first convention NOT in a Star Wars costume! We both debuted our BSG costumes at this con, my Caprica Six dress and his BDU's.
It was AWESOME to meet EJO, Mike Hogan, Luciana Carro, and Nicki Clyne. EJO and Mike gave me hugs and a kiss... maybe it was my Six costume lol. Everyone was such a sweetheart and wonderful to talk with :-D To quote MH "Thank you for this, you made my day." talking about my Caprica Six dress *hehe*. |

NER BBQ (July 25, 2009)Thanks to Don and Amy for hosting the BBQ, Bonnie and Andres hosting us for two nights, and Dion and Tanya for driving us home :-)
Will made the Baconator, which seamed to be a HUGE hit with everyone (except Dion). Fun times were had with friends! It was nice to hang in an atmosphere that wasn't a con or event. |

Miracle Walk 2009 (Oct 4, 2009)Miracle Walk with the NER in NJ.
Princess Leia taught the kids how to hula hoop! Next year I know to bring more hoops, the kids LOVED them. It was also great to get a few of the costumed characters to try hooping ;-) Thanks for being good sports about it :-D
Miracle Walk Information:
Miracle Walk was created by a family in gratitude for the care their daughter received during a three month stay in the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. A team of dedicated parents have joined together to organize and participate in this annual walk-a-thon to raise financial support for the NICU. In the past six years, Miracle Walk has raised over $1.5 million to purchase advanced medical technology for the NICU.
Due to the success of Miracle Walk, the NICU at Saint Barnabas has acquired state-of-the-art equipment such as Giraffe incubators, high-tech ventilators, and a cutting-edge ultrasound system. These items have been purchased to ensure NICU babies receive outstanding care and experience as little discomfort as possible. Parents of babies treated at Saint Barnabas for prematurity, low birth weight, serious illness, and congenital disorders know the invaluable care they receive has provided for optimal outcomes. Friends and families sponsor a walker, make a donation, volunteer at the event, or walk any distance that is comfortable for them. Scenic Verona Park includes a stroller-friendly path to allow everyone in the family to get involved and make a difference.
NICU Information
Every year, over 1,200 infants receive the highest quality care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Premature babies cared for at the Saint Barnabas NICU have an extremely high survival rate and a very low disability rate compared to the national average, even among the most fragile low birth weight infants. For the past three years, Saint Barnabas is proud to have the lowest chronic lung disease rate among over 500 NICUs in 27 countries throughout the world. Our Level III Regional Perinatal Center has achieved some of the highest infant survival rates among NICUs in New Jersey and across the nation. |

Wizard World Big Apple Con 2009 (Oct 17-18, 2009)Wow! Last time I was at BAC it was small, hot, and smelly... it has changed a LOT (for the better)! This was a good sized con and I had a lot of fun. There were a lot of good guests and it seemed like a good attendance.
Saturday and Sunday I wore ...my Catwoman and hung out by the Batmobile with Ruby and Jenn. Julie Newmar came and took pictures with me... SHE came to me! It was great and it really made my weekend. She then pulled me to the side to get video and pics on her own camera at her booth *fangirl squee*. |
