Thursday (Sept 3)Thursday we all flew out for Dragon Con. It was a packed flight of Dcon goes you could tell. Cris, Mike, John, Kevin, Will, and I also bumped into my friend David (the awesome photographer who did my Leia and Officer pics).
Thursday night Will and the boys headed to Mary Mac's Tea Room for dinner while Cris and I stayed and hooped in the lobby for a bit.
When the boys came back we went upstairs and changed into costume. I debuted my Trek Skant with Tribble :-D |

Friday (Sept 4)Not many pics from Friday unfortunately as we left the camera in the room that morning and afternoon. Will and I dressed in our Head Six and Baltar costumes and the camera just didn't go with the outfits lol.
We wandered the dealer's rooms, and then headed to the Artist's Alley and art show. We bought a gorgeous print from my favorite artist, Jason Palmer, of BSG. Will thought it only fair since I have the big Padme print, he wanted one for himself. Jason is super sweet and a fabulous artist. His wife made the awesome matte for the print with the octogon cutouts :-)
Then we came back and I changed into my SL Hoop Outfit to perform in the lobby for a bit. It didn't last too long since people were taking up space, and my hoop had a loose wire that would turn off the lights while spinning. After 1/2 hr I was able to fix it :-) I must have been there hooping for a few hours, but I got some great time and met some friends along the way.
After hooping myself silly, I met up with the others and changed into my Victorian gown to go hang out with everyone and drink. It was fun for sure. |

Saturday (Sept 5)Wow, Saturday, where do I start?! We woke up WAY late, like 10:30am... crap I missed the parade :-( We all got changed and headed seperate ways. Will and I headed for some yummy hotel breakfast buffet and Mike/Cris went to a Firefly panel. We went to a BSG panel, and then wandered around the Hilton for a bit in the Walk of Fame.
After the Walk of Fame we ate some lunch and I changed into my SL for the Photo Shoot. We had some time to kill so we wandered around the Marriott 'Costume Spotting'. We managed to bump into Ruby and Jenn along the way and took some photos with them.
The SL Shoot went fairly quickly thankfully. I was worried it was going to go into overtime like last year. It was organized and timely :-)
Will and I actually headed to the 501st Mixer first for a few minutes, eh, overrated and crowded, just like every year. We split fast and I hooped in the Marriott again for about 30 minutes and then got ready for the BSG party.
The BSG Party was fun, but also WAY crowded! They capped the party early and had to wait for people to leave before letting more in. The BSG Actors were there and they were great! Mary led us all in "So Say We All!" it really made the energy in the room jump tremendously. Several of them were roaming the party taking pics with everyone too, they were all super nice! Both Michael Trucco (Anders) and Alessandro Juliani (Gaeta) complimented Will and I on our costumes :-D You can't see it in the photo, but Alessandro was grabbing my hip hehe.
After the BSG party, we crashed the Shindig next door as it was ending. Apparently the people at the Shindig were chanting "So Say We All" with us, it was that loud!
Cris, Mike, Will, and I headed back to the Hotel to chill, Mike fell asleep and the three of us headed downstairs. After Cris got her free drink, we chilled in the Marquis level of the Marriott for a bit. After deciding that our Wigs were killing us, Cris and I decided to change and hoop for a bit. We were later joined by Rachel with her LED hoop :-) We were down there for about 2 hours, until 3am I believe. |
