Our Philippines Vacation 2009 (Jan 27- Feb 12, 2009)These photos are from our vacation tour in the Philippines Jan 27-Feb 12, 2009. Louise and I spent 8 days in Manila, 3 days in Boracay and 6 days at the El Nido Lagen Island Resort in the province of Palawan. The Manila and Boracay legs of our trip were arranged through PAMRA (Philippine American Retirees Association) in conjunction with their 1-week reunion and tour of the Philippines with 600+ attendees. After Boracay, Louise and I went on our own to experience 6 glorious days at the Lagen Island Resort, which I consider one of the most enjoyable vacations Louise and I have ever had. Lagen Island is surrounded by sheer limestone cliffs, more than 40 islands and islets, and pristine waters with numerous coves and lush forest -- just beautiful.
While in Manila, Louise and I attended a dinner hosted by Bess and Nitoy Nocos at the Emerald Garden Restaurant. Bess and Nitoy were co-graduates from Mapa High School class of '57. They invited several other co-graduates. It was good to see them again after 50+ years. |

Oregon Road Trip (September 10-21, 2007)| Louise and I traveled to Oregon in our new Nissan Frontier to tour the Oregon Coast and the Columbia River. We stayed at three campgrounds and five hotels over a 12-day period. What a great experience! |

My Watercolor Paintings (December 13, 2006)| Since my childhood in the Philippines, I have enjoyed creating art, always with a special interest in watercolor painting. I joined the U.S. Coast Guard at a young age and my busy career did not allow me to pursue this hobby early in life. Now that I am retired, I can finally find time to indulge my love of art through watercolor. I am constantly taking photos of subjects to paint. By using watercolor as a medium, I strive to express the beauty of life as I see it. |

Fairwinds Estate, North Tahoe (August 13-16, 2007)| Our daughter Tina won a charity auction for a three-night stay at this beautiful mansion situated on 3 lakefront acres at Lake Tahoe North Shore. She and her husband Dave invited us to experience this ultimate getaway on the lake. This 6-bedroom mansion has its own private beach, a boat dock, and decks to enjoy the view of the lake. |

Mapa High '57 Classmates at Horatio's (October 15, 2006)| After almost 50 years, Zack, Efren and Rudi met at Horatio's Restaurant in San Leandro for a mini-reunion lunch. We brought our wives along. The lunch was hosted by Efren (Horatio's has great food and ambiance!). After Lunch we got together for dessert and coffee at Efren's and Cora's house.
