        ~~~Von Holzland Deckerlines~~~
Concentrated on Deckerline's, always breeding for health,temperament, trainability, along with structure. Puppies that would do well as hunters, competition dogs or companion pets. Also with looks good enough to give some competition in the show ring.
I believed in quality and not quantity and this is why you would never see alot of dogs here at my kennel. I believed in spending equal quality time and training with each and every dog I had here. My goal was to breed a Deckerline w/ the qualities to be a great hunting dog, but would also be able to curl up in your home w/ you by the fireplace after the hunt.
I was always very critical of my breeding stock as well. Both male & female had to show me the qualities I wanted before I considered utilizing them in my breeding program. Of utmost importance, temperament, trainability along with correct conformation that will not inhibit them from doing the work they were bred to do.
My puppies and adults were registered with the NRTA registry. My Deckerlines were all bred to NRTA standards. Puppies came with a health guarantee, their first set of vaccines and wormings, and tails docked. Puppies were well socialized w/ adults, children and other animals, ie. other dogs, cats, horses, and depending on how long they were here they would be collar and leash broke, introduced to crate training and exposed to the woods and fields around my home.
Please check back from time to time for a visitand updates. I believe my goals were met in producing what I strived for here. Puppies all went to caring, loving homes and my puppies produced here put allot of smiles and happiness in peoples lives! Always a wonderful feeling! Hope you enjoy your visit! I may still occasionally offer puppies for sale, so make sure you visit from time to time if interested in a Decker you can say you are proud to own.
         ~~~Little Mountain Stables~~~
Here my daughter and I retrain OTTB's for show, trail and companion animals. For a fee I do let down of the X racer before going to their new home. My Security Officer position at Penn National Racecourse at Hollywood Casino has enabled me to make many new friends in the horse industry. Jockeys, Trainers and Owners of this noble breed the Thoroughbred. I have access to many fine horses that no longer want to race. The owners & trainers that I have come to know will come to me to help them find a home.
I myself have a wonderful gelding I was re-training for endurance until my daughter decided she wantedhim to show.
If you are at all interested in one of these fine athletes to retrain for your own Competition Sport Horse, Barrel Horse, Fox Hunter, Trail Mount,Companion Horse or Pet, please feel free to contact me.
Alot of these horses end up at auction and go for slaughter over seas to end up on someones dinner table. The trainers I work with are concerned about getting their horses in a good environment and not on someones dinner plate. Help give these fine athletes a second chance!It's amazing to see these horses transform once they leave track life. Most who haven't had the experience of being around an ottb after he has been let down don't know how truly wonderful these animals can be. It's best if they are let down by an experienced person like myself, but once the racetrack is out of them, you can expect a truly wonderful horse. Time and patience is the most important thing.
Thank you!
