This name for my Decker Rat Terrier breeding program stems from our German heritage. Although I'm a bit of American Indian & Irish too. My husbands heritage is mostly German & we bred German lined G S dogs under the name Von Holzland. I thought since we were successful w/ our kennel using this name for our breeding program for our G.S. dogs I would stick to it and use it with my Decker Rat Terriers. Von (der) Holzland means from the woodlands which is fitting for our place as we are surrounded by woods that border farmland and what is called the little mountain here in Hegins, Pennsylvania. The name means allot to me and it reflects upon me.

I became interested in the Rat Terrier in 2002 through an old friend of mine. I ventured out on my own in 2005 to develope my own breeding program and concentrate on Decker lines. I especially love the Decker's.

Not new to breeding or training my husband & I owned and operated a boarding, grooming and professional training kennel for more than 20 years. We bred German (working lined) Shepherds for 20 of those years. Competing actively in the sport of Schutzhund nationally and internationally.

I'm concentrating on Decker's. I'm breeding for health,temperament, trainability, along with structure. Puppies that will do well as hunters, competition dogs or companion pets. Also with looks good enough to give some competition in the show ring.

I believe in quality and not quantity and this is why you won't see alot of dogs here at my kennel. I believe in spending equal quality time and training with each and every dog I have here. My goal is to breed a Decker w/ the qualities to be a great hunting dog, but will also be able to curl up in your home w/ you by the fireplace after the hunt. I'm very critical of my breeding stock as well. Both male & female must show me the qualities I want before I consider utilizing them in my breeding program. Of utmost importance, temperament, trainability along with correct conformation that will not inhibit them from doing the work they are bred to do. My puppies and adults are registered with the NRTA registry. My Deckers are all bred to NRTA standards. Puppies come with a health guarantee, their first set of vaccines and wormings, and tails docked. Puppies are well socialized w/ adults, children and other animals, ie. other dogs, cats, horses, and depending on how long they are here they will be collar and leash broke, introduced to crate training and exposed to the woods and fields around my home.
