First and foremost we would like to give a “HUGE” thank you to Candace Drake owner/breeder of Rosethorn Rat Terriers Kennel for letting this boy come and join our pack. We talked to Candace about what we were wanting in a male and she assured us that this boy was it. Candace even took the time to make sure Black Jack was ready to show before he came to us. She taught him to walk on a leash and stack on the table. Since Black Jack has that natural show attitude it was easy. Best Rat Terriers Kennel has been looking for another stud to add to our lines for the past couple of years. We're not replacing our main man Bronco, but we have held back some wonderful females out of him and needed an unrelated male for them. We feel Black Jack was the BEST choice. We are very sure this boy will add some fine qualities to our bloodlines.
Black Jack will finish out as a large miniature at about 13 inches at the shoulders. He has a short dense coat in wonderful rich colors. He has a very nice compact body and great shaped head. He will have stand up ears. As far as we can tell he carries the colors blue, chocolate and pearl. We will update this list as we find out. And as a added bounce he is out of some of the oldest bloodlines in the country.
Black Jack will have all the necessary testing done at the appropriate ages (knees, hips, eyes & heart) before he will be bred to any of the females we have. After all testing is complete and if he passes he will be open to only a few outside females.
Watch for this boy in our local UKC show rings starting this Sept. 2009. Both Best Rat Terriers & Rosethorn Rat Terriers Kennels are sure he will knock their socks off!
I took Black Jack to his first UCK show on Sept 19th & 20th, 2009. First, I would like to say Thank You to the American Eskimo Dog Association of Oregon for putting on a great show. Also HUGE THANK YOU'S go out to the honorable UKC Judges Eleanor Main, Marilyn O'Neill, Patrica Young, and Dennis Morgan for seeing what an OUTSTANDING pup Black Jack is.
