That's me, far right, May 2002. I had lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 lbs by this point.

May 2002. What amazed me is how fast the weight came off around my neck and face. (And didn't come off my belly all that fast, not at first.)

Well, OK, there's still some there.

The woman in the middle, Cathy, is the reason I joined WW in the first place. She lost 50 lbs on the program, and is still slim today.

April 2003; I'm on the right. Although here I was only 10 lbs heavier than my current weight (about 141 here), I had a significant "spare tire." I managed to get rid of it. I intensified my cardio, and also upped my weight training seriously. My body reshaped itself over about a year. and I lost additional fat (and gained additional muscle).

DH and I did Xmas vacation in Italy 2008, and took our two college aged sons with us.  Interesting how all the money we channel to fund McDonalds exectuvives life style and minimum wage laborers...in Italy the small family and home based restaurants....that food money goes to improve the quality of life of the food preparers, and it improves the quality of food eaten...rarely saw an obese person in Italy.

Your website is truly inspirational!  I've been doing WW for 5 weeks and have lost 6 lbs.  Tomorrow I weigh myself again.  Looking at your pictures has given me hope.  Thank you.

Thanks for your post in response to mine on WW. Your message addressed issues that I've dealt with for many years in therapy. (and continue to till this day) I am so amazed that "strangers"
have shared such insightful information. I will continue to read this board and practice "patience" Interesting about the "die"t as I am memorial counselor in a mortuary and deal with this daily!!! SO I will cherish my days, and have good wine and chocolate in moderation!!!!

I restarted WW 2 wks ago, this time online.  I found your story while reading the forums.  I've tried many times and failed.  Knowing that a real person, my age has been sucessful long term is very encouraging.  Thanks

I'm 55, 30+ pounds over WW goal & 50+ over personal goal - feeling VERY discouraged this Monday morning.  YOU have truly inspired me - you look SO happy now.  You DID look matronly before & I do now - NOT a happy look.  Thanks so much for posting pictures!  Keep up the positive attitude - that's what I need right now.

Hi Deb,
Your pics are just fabulous. I was wondering (and I'll email you on your email addy as well, in case you don't see this right away)...

would you be willing to help me figure out a beginning workout routine per "The New Rules" schedule? I am having problems deciding how to set things up vis-a-vis Workout A and Workout B, and all those variations.

Deb:

Saw your post on points "I ate every stinkin' point coming to me," and laughed out loud.  I, too, ate every stinkin' available point and made lifetime 3 weeks ago.  I can only hope to be as successful.  I love the photos of you exercising.  I've learned to love exercise, too!

Deb....Great photos. Thanks for being part of the 50's message board.  I actually have a whole folder of your quotes, posts, etc., which I refer back to constantly since joining online over 4 years ago.  You really are an inspiration to a lot of people.
Hope you stick around & keep us going.

I am also just at that 50 year (1/2 way) mark and needing to get back the body I lost (or stretched ALL out of shape!) along the way. The second half of my life is shaping up to be full of love and fun. I plan on being in  better physical shape to enjoy it! You are a real inspiration! Your blog tells me I can do it too!On my way out for a walk now! Thanks!
