Receiving my certificate as an "Approved Trader"
The Buy with Confidence Scheme initiated by the Isle of Wight Trading Standards Service to aid the public in separating the cowboy from the Bona Fide trader. The scheme requires that the trader concerned allows officers of the Trading Standards to scrutinise the Accounts, Terms & Conditions, Customer Relations and complaints procedures. If these are acceptable under new regulations a trader may receive the title "Approved Trader" and be listed on the Trading Standards web site as such.
Since moving I am no longer on the website but hope to get the Northamptonshire Trading Standards interested in forming their own "Buy with Confidence" scheme, fingers crossed!

Padauk top
As can be seen the colour is really quite stunning. This piece will eventually be gilded with Gold paste to enhance the grain and give a pleasant contrast as the piece ages. (£80.00)

African Padauk gilded
As suggested in previous image this is now gilded with Gold paste to enhance the grain. Hopefully the contrast with the darkening oxidising wood surface will bring the Gold flecks to the fore. (£60,00)
