Drilling Workshop in Kochi
I was really fortunate to get the opportunity to go to Japan for a planning workshop on current and future IODP and ICDP proposals in Southeast Asia. I was one of only two students who attended. In addition to the excellent professional opportunities at the meeting, I was excited to see a bit of Japan. My prior experience with Japan has only been inside one of the airports. It was a short trip, so I didn't have time for extra sight-seeing, but I at least got to see a lot of a small Japanese city. I don't really have any pictures of the meeting itself since we all pretty much know what people standing up in front of a room talking looks like. But I hope you enjoy what pictures I do have. Oh, and in true Penny fashion, I didn't have one picture on my camera that had me in it. Fortunately, I was not the only one who took pictures, and I snagged a few from Federica Tamburini. She is a fantastic photographer.
