I tried to incorporate the words into the designs.

Nautical theme in boys bathroom of LMES..They are the "Mariners"..
Character education words were used in the murals.
Pic doesnt do the wall color justice...its a periwinkle blue.

Enlarge photo 23

School and motto letters are each about 2 feet tall....

Enlarge photo 24
24
Finished hot air ballooon and kids

The sixth, seventh, and eighth grade choral members are in for a surprise when they start back to school on Aug. 20...

Enlarge photo 33
33
Seems like everything I've done lately is HUGE!!!

Enlarge photo 34
34
The finished mural...The sixth, seventh & eighth graders are going to get a surprise when they return to school on Aug 20...

Enlarge photo 35
35
I made a contraption with 5 pencils to do the musical score so they would all be even...This actually took me longer to do than the entire warrior...

Enlarge photo 36
36
Geez!! that headdress took ALOT of strokes!!!

Enlarge photo 37
37
The beginnings of the Alma Mater and the warrior is almost finished.

Enlarge photo 38
38
more progress on the warrior...this is on the back wall of the choral room at Gilbert Middle School.

Enlarge photo 39
39
The beginnings of the "singing" warrior...I did a soft background of blue, tan, and grey...

Enlarge photo 40
40
This corner of the lobby was done with dark green shutters and doors.  Faux windows were also painted.

Enlarge photo 41
41
The wall fountain and trellises are painted on the wall in the lobby of the middle school.  The ferns and bench are real.

Enlarge photo 42
42
Another hallway sign.

Enlarge photo 43
43
Each wing(building) of the school now has a sign painted on the bulkhead in the main lobby.  I also painted exposed bricks to give it some color.

Enlarge photo 44
44
Close up of the windows and painted media center sign.

Enlarge photo 45
45
Another shot of the fountain area.

Enlarge photo 46
46
View of Guidance office now with painted door.

Enlarge photo 47
47
Painted door to the Guidance office.  You can see the window/shutter in the upper lefthand corner.  All the doors only had one window, now with the magic of paint they have 2.

Enlarge photo 48
48
Painted geraniums, windows and wrought iron over the doors/windows of the media center..Ill add greenery to the wrought iron. and Ill be adding more to the blank space between the real windows.

Enlarge photo 49
49
Now that the doors are painted it looks more like the villa I had envisioned for the common area of the school lobby. You can see what it looked like before paint in the next picture.

Enlarge photo 50
50
Wooden doors were painted the same color as the faux shutters on the faux windows .  I also painted a faux window on the doors to balance them. Wall sconces and a wrought iron basket of geraniums have also been added

Enlarge photo 51
51
The lobby of the school will look like an italian villa when I get through painting all the detailing around the building.

Enlarge photo 52
52
Here's the doors before I painted them.

Enlarge photo 53
53
Doors of main office painted to match the shutters on the faux windows..I also added the topiary.

Enlarge photo 54
54
Another arbor with garland painted over yet another door in the library.

Enlarge photo 55
55
Mountain view is on the adjacent wall of the lake scene mural I painted last year in the middle school library.

Enlarge photo 56
56
Mountain scene painted overtop of the bookshelves in the library.

Enlarge photo 57
57
This window is adjacent to another window I painted on the projector cabinet last year.

Enlarge photo 58
58
Beach window painted in the professional library at the middle school..

Enlarge photo 59
59
I painted some banners (Reading Rules) and some wooden arrows on the trees on the forest scene I had painted earlier.

Enlarge photo 60
60
Another view of the media center entrance

Enlarge photo 61
61
Here the "knights" are guarding the media center.

Enlarge photo 62
62
Notice, I gave each "Knight" a book rather than his sword.

Enlarge photo 63
63
"Knight in Shining Armour" painted on either side of the library entrance.

Enlarge photo 64
64
Palmetto tree in the corner and a magnolia tree in the midlands of SC

Enlarge photo 65

Closeup of Carolina wren and yellow jasemine.  This hall also leads to the third grade classrooms which study all about South Carolina.

Enlarge photo 66
66
Made it to the ocean...3rd morning painting.

Enlarge photo 67
67
End of 2nd morning of painting.

Enlarge photo 68
68
Starting in the mountains and working my way toward the coast.

Enlarge photo 69
69
After 5 hours, I have all the scene basecoated in....

Enlarge photo 70
70
Heres what I started with....a bare wall in the entrance hall to the office of the school.

Enlarge photo 71
71
Topiaries done on 3/4" plywood...these topiaries were done to flank the outside garden door I did for Gilbert Elementary School.

Enlarge photo 72
72
What once was a drab brown exterior entrance is now an inviting door into the media center..I also did the faux stone work on the sidewalk in front of the door....These are the topiaries I painted on plywood.

Enlarge photo 73
73
Finished door...I did faux trim around the windows..The "secret garden" door is right across the breezeway from this one, so I wanted them similar but yet different...The colors arent true in the photo as the door is done in tans not greys...

Enlarge photo 74
74
2nd phase....the door has been basecoated in several shades of browns...its ready for all the detailing now...

Enlarge photo 75
75
First step...prime the brown metal doors...now its ready to start painting.

Enlarge photo 76
76
Main entrance into the school. All elements are trompe l'oeil except for the square glass panes and the door handles.

Enlarge photo 77
77
Career Day at the elementary school...I painted this scene on a pulldown projector screen...A first for me, and what a wonderful "blank canvas" to get creative with.  This scene will be used as the backdrop for the tv show produced by the students at the school.

Enlarge photo 78
78
The other side of the castle.

Enlarge photo 79
79
View from the ground level of a section of the castle. Notice the chain which is connected to the drawbridge...

Enlarge photo 80
80
Another view of the castle from a ladder.

Enlarge photo 81
81
Heres what Ive done so far to the castle. I also painted the sky area around the castle and based in the grassy area.

Enlarge photo 82
82
Heres a view of the beginnings of the castle from the scaffolding.  The piece you see protruding is a pulldown screen they use in the media center, I just painted it into the castle.

Enlarge photo 83
83
View of the hanging lights from the floor.  You can see the start of the castle Im painting on the far end of the library.

Enlarge photo 84
84
Closeup of the candles on each light.  I had to stand on scaffolding about 12 ft up in the air to paint each one.

Enlarge photo 85
85
I painted candlebras on 15 hanging lights in the library.  Each one has 13 candles on it....the underside of the light is painting like wrought iron.

Enlarge photo 86
86
He's keeping eye on all the students who visit the library.

Enlarge photo 87
87
Gilbert Elementary's mascot is the Eagle....so I had to incorporate one into the design.

Enlarge photo 88
88
Forest painted on other end of the media center.

Enlarge photo 89
89
Another view of the corner

Enlarge photo 90
90
A reading corner with a tree/bench with books...I will add more to this scene in the next few days.

Enlarge photo 91
91
I added some islands and more sailboats to the lake scene in this pic. Its a very serene mural.

Enlarge photo 92
92
Lake scene painted over bookshelves on one side of the media center. It was still a work in progress when I took this pic

Enlarge photo 93
93
I painted this lattice/wisteria arbor to enhance another door in the media center.

Enlarge photo 94
94
This topiarylike arbor is painted over the door to the "Professional library".

Enlarge photo 95
95
The professional library is used by the teachers and had no windows.  This was a big brown box, now they can enjoy the view when they are having a meeting of the minds. Ill be adding some shading and highlighting to the window frame this week, too.

Enlarge photo 96
96
Beach scene painted on wooden cabinet which houses a projection screen in the professional libray in the media center.

Enlarge photo 97
97
There is a garden to the right of this door and I wanted it to be a part of the garden...they are going to buy 2 boxwood topiaries to put on both sides of the door...

Enlarge photo 98
98
"Secret Garden Door" painted on outside metal door at the elementary school...

Enlarge photo 99
99
It took 4 hours to paint the topiaries, lattice and wisteria..

Enlarge photo 100
100
Wisteria, lattice surround the entrance with spiral topiaries flanking each side...There is another entrance on other side of library I will do something similiar.

Enlarge photo 101
101
Entrance to Media Center(library) at Gilbert Primary School(K-3rd)..
We are doing a garden theme to reflect the school mission of
"Garden of Knowledge"

Enlarge photo 102
102
The mural continues down this wall which has a view of the garden in the courtyard of the school..

Enlarge photo 103
103
Large tree, flowers painted in the center wall of the mural. I did a big boulder with a lizard, thought the boys would enjoy that.

Enlarge photo 104
104
Garden mural in reading pit of the library. Ill be adding different elements along in the afternoons.

Enlarge photo 105
105
Another view of the entrance.

Enlarge photo 106
106
Another entrance door into the library...I painted the same lattice and wisteria but did different topiaries.

Enlarge photo 107
107
View of the bulkhead from the media center entrance.

Enlarge photo 108
108
Right side of the bulkhead when you enter the media center

Enlarge photo 109
109
After I masked off the lines of the window, I painted the sky and vines, and tree limbs...

Enlarge photo 110
110
The bulkhead is in a v-shape about 12 ft. up...

Enlarge photo 111
111
Faux window painted on bulkhead over entrance and checkout counter in media center

Enlarge photo 112
112
Large tree painted on wall of cafeteria in Gilbert Elementary school.

Enlarge photo 113
113
The wall the mural is painted on is 3 walls that makeup the backdrop for the stage area located in the cafeteria of Gilbert Middle School.

Enlarge photo 114
114
I purposely left the mural slightly basic so they could adapt it to whatever activity they were doing on the stage area.

Enlarge photo 115
115
I started with a white wall at 8am finished up the entire wall at 4:30..

Enlarge photo 116
116
The full view of the quite large wall I painted the mural on...I did a similar scene last year on paper...this year it was painted on the block wall permanently.

Enlarge photo 117
117
Meandering path flanked with spiral topiaries with wisteria covered arbor give depth to this mural.

Enlarge photo 118
118
I used rollers to base in the sky and grassy areas which helped speed things along.

Enlarge photo 119
119
It took 5 hours to complete the mural..I had lots of ooohhs and aaahhs from students and faculty during their lunch periods..

Enlarge photo 120
120
The backdrop is behind a small stage in the cafetorium.
The gardeny scene will add to the overall garden theme of the banquet..Hope they have a great time...

Enlarge photo 121
121
I painted this backdrop for the 8th grade End of Year Banquet on Friday night..The mural is painted on paper..unfortunately.

Enlarge photo 122
122
Front outside entrance doors to the media center...I did the faux planks on the metal doors..The white area above the doors is primed and ready to become stone...

Enlarge photo 123
123
I plan on painting the door handles to resemble wrought iron.Ill spray paint those with that paint that looks like hammered metal.

Enlarge photo 124
124
Faux stonework painted on the area above the doors. I also sprayed the silver door handles with black spray paint that looks like hammered metal when dry..

Enlarge photo 125
125
View of the inside of the library..You can see all 8 support columns... Next week we will be up on scaffolding painting story book characters along the top  of the 4 walls...

Enlarge photo 126
126
Sconces painted on the faux stone pillars...there are 8 of these pillars in the library all have been painted with stones and sconces to "light up the library"...

Enlarge photo 127
127
Doors taped off to do the faux wooden planks....

Enlarge photo 128
128
The other set of doors in the library painted like faux wooden planks....door knockers and all...It really goes with the castle theme we are doing throught the library

Enlarge photo 129
129
Metal doors painted to look like castle doors.  The metal doors were given a coat of primer, then painted black, then fauxed to look like wooden planks...

Enlarge photo 130
130
Faux stones painted on the front surface of the checkout area in the library.

Enlarge photo 131
131
Another view of the pond rug...The rug was placed in front of the checkout in the library. (see next pic)

Enlarge photo 132
132
Faux koi pond painted on 6ft by 8 ft piece of linoleum...The frog Prince is waiting for his Princess

Enlarge photo 133
133
The camel and donkey...they too are BIG..All designs were freehanded...

Enlarge photo 134
134
Kneeling Shepherd and his sheep. He too is about 45 inches tall. Ill be creating more sheep and animals to add to the nativity scene

Enlarge photo 135
135
The three Wisemen stand over 6 ft tall. You can see how they tower over the refrigerator they are leaning against.

Enlarge photo 136
136
Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus..
They stand about 45 inches tall..actually they are kneeling...
Done on 1" exterior plywood.
