| 2 Harrys back is starting to muscle up and develop. This is 3 weeks after getting the saddle. We've had some pretty bad weather, snow, rain, endlessly, so I've not been able to get out every single day. This is after 6 straight days of work.

| 6 10/9/09 fine at walk-We rode one day and then the temps plummeted and it's been raining ever since. This was our first real ride in the saddle. I finally have eliminated this pad, and am using a white contour pad I made years ago for the Lauriche. I have to make a new one but for now it fits really well.
| 7 pad fine
| 8 at walk, trot and canter pad stayed put.
|
9 see how it dips behind the saddle where it's kind of red? This was the first lesson with the saddle, and the new photos 1-4 from the 21st of October-it clearly shows development of the muscles there. I wrote this 10/21/09
| 10 trotting
| 11 cantering-yes I'm twisting trying to get more symetrical. There was so much more freedom and energy, takes some getting used to. LOL
| 12 bounding at canter. I'm trying to sit lighter, because he is not at the point where he is giving me his back so I can sit deeply, but he is def. much more free in the shoulders and gaits.
|
 13 stretching trot.
| 14 Valerie is holding him. He is standing squarely behind and front.
| 15
| 16 White wool pad I made for Lauriche. We rode in this today and it tightened right across his withers and bunched up front to back. Guess this one won't work.
|
17 Tipperary pad I had, fits quite nicely.
| 18 Pendleton double sided wool with brand design woven in. He also liked this very much, and it just needs to have outer trim sewn on. It's heavy enough to form nicely to his back.
| 19 my new amazing wow saddle arrived yesterday 10/5/09. I get to ride in it today!
| 20 right side

 21 gorgeous nubuck seat!!
| 22 from the back showing the air tubes for the Flair panels. These will be tucked in out of sight when we are sure all is exactly perfecto!
| 23 underside showing screws so I can change the flaps from VSD to AP for jumping, or the panels if necessary or seat. A fully adjustable saddle with a Titanium flexible tree that moves with the horse. I've removed the air tubes now because we were waiting to see if it needed adjusting. We'll get another adjustment in a month when we start South for the Winter if he needs it.
| 24 first day trying on pads to see which ones fit. These are pads I've made except for the Tipperary. 10/5/09
|
25 I put the saddle on and he stopped resting his right hind.
| 26 Just in the field as the trucks whip by.
| 27
| 28 He's practically in a coma he's so relaxed. All we did was walk and trot a bit.

| 30 After 20 min, back to the barn.

| 32 Harry's Birthday was spent getting a man-peddi. He is at Cornell University School of Farriery waiting for Mike Wildenstein. He loves to come here. A new group of students are here and he likes Bridget Shea from VT.
|
33 The student taking off Harry's old shoes.
| 34 Mike 'burns' on one of his shoes. All four shoes are burned to help seat the shoe properly.
| 35 Hot shoeing his hind foot.
| 36 Mike gets ready to put on one of Harry's hand made shoes by Mike based on a new style from the Netherlands for Dressage horses to help them have an easier breakover and lift to their front legs.
|
37 Mike attaches the other front shoe.
| 38 I want another carrot. Mario from Binghamton who shoes Standardbreds at Tioga looks on.
| 39 One student clenches his hind shoe, Bridget paints his hoof, and another holds him.
| 40 Bridget buffing before painting and Harrys clenches tightened by a student. They take off old shoes, Mike does trimming, shaping, shoeing and the students clench, buff(sand) and paint.
|
41 Some of the fabulous hand made shoes in Mikes shop. A museum of shoes for all applications.
| 42 My favorite photo of him.
