This was a body restoration vs a frame off restoration considering the condition of the frame

Sanding and more Sanding.  This old truck was subject to Pin Striping all over. A Mexmobile would be proud of, but not worthy of a PW

John / Florida

My Power Wagon  is a 1963. It was a wrecker for Roberts Dairy in Iowa. It was originally Dodge Truck Red. A gentleman purchased the truck in 1980 and painted it blue, made diamond plate running boards and put the blue pleated interior in it as well as taking off the wrecker aframe. He had a personal auto museum in Missouri where he displayed the truck with about 15 other vehicles. It wasnt driven since 1980. He passed on and I bought it in 2004

The truck sat in my garage until last summer, when I sent it to North Carolina {Charles Talbert} of M-series Rebuild. Charles rebuilt the entire drivetrain including diffs, transfer case, pto, transmission, winch, with all new seals, bearings, bushings etc. as well as set up all the mechanicals.

I got the truck back and took it to my neighbors shop. He does painting and powder coating for the military as well as airports. He paints everything from desert rat type vehicles to airplanes. Big shop {25,000 sq ft.} I've had it there for the last 3 months working on it everyday. Hope to be done in another month. I have the truck back together except for the fenders and running boards and a re-upholstery on the interior. I was going to use brown material for the seats but will probably put it back to stock using grey material.

Fortunately, the three rivet holes were there to help establish the location of the new ones. The upper row is 4 3/8" up from the bottom.

Blades are from NAP HD/Truck Parts, Shafts are from motorhome/truck/bus systems, cable is Teleflex, ball joints from Graingers.  That much adds up to $200, plus make some parts.  Motor is from a Bronco II with internal linkage to reduce stroke to about 115 degrees.  Now I am all set for a Sleet Storm in San Diego
