Republic, Washington fossils
On our recent trip to Panorama, British Columbia we stopped at Republic, Washington to dig fossils at the Stonerose site. You may collect as many as you like but get to keep only three per person. Any unique or unknown fossils may be kept by the interpretive center. Your name will be kept with the fossil. When you are done digging you take the fossils to the center and they ID them for you. They will also do some clean up and trimming if needed. The fossils are from the middle Eocene, about 50 million years old. It is trip that I would do again. The photos were taken with an Olympus C-700 2.1 mega pixel camera. Shooting was done outdoors in the shade and a light overcast. Shooting distance ranges from 2 to 4 inches. Metering was set to spot.
