F.U.R. The Friends Of Unwanted Rabbits (FUR) is run by volunteers who rescue rabbits from the Sacramento County Animal Care & Regulation and Yolo County. FUR is supported by the non-profit affiliate of Sacramento County Animal Care & Regulation, Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM). All rabbits are spayed/neutered, litter box trained, and socialized before being housed at PetsMart Adoption Centers. Rabbits are adopted to carefully screened indoor homes by FUR volunteers.
Rabbits in Foster Care are also available for adoption, unless otherwise noted.
If interested in adopting any of the rabbits at the Folsom Petsmart located at 2375 Iron Point Road 2705 East Bidwell Street
Please call (916) 710-0105 and leave a message. Please speak your name and phone number slowly & repeat it. You can expect a response within 48 hours but please be patient as we are volunteers. NOTE: When using a cell phone inside of Petsmart to call our message line often the phone cuts out so we are not able to understand phone numbers or names. Please go outside to make your calls. Also ADULTS ONLY should be calling. Often when a child calls it is difficult to understand the phone number or the child simply forgets to leave the phone number. This is a message line only.If you do not receive a call back please email us at teamfur@gmail.com. The message line is checked once a day so if a message is left at 3:00pm but the message line was checked at 12:00pm, your message is not going to be heard until the next day. Our volunteers might be with an interested adopter that scheduled an appointment so your call might not be returned right away. We are volunteers, please be patient and know that our goal is to find the rabbits forever loving homes. If you are the first person who leaves a message with interest in a rabbit then you are first in line so you will be contacted first and after going through our screening process have the opportunity to adopt if approved.

1 We have been contacted by a local resident who captured 21 rabbits that had been dumped at the park last weekend. They are willing to help by keeping them as long as they can. The only place they have available is a few outside pens. Animal control removed four of the troublesome males and took them to the shelter. They have already 'adopted' out 2 to a local vet tech. They are left with 15. Leaps & Bounds is already bursting at the seems and unable to take them in. All of these are babies of various ages. The oldest look to be teens. They all appear to be healthy, happy, and well socialized. There are a couple of white/grey flops with dark eyes, a couple of white with dark eyes and several REWs (including one lop). These babies need to be moved as soon as possible. The family is doing their best to fight the heat but the only alternative is to either take them to the shelter (already at 5) or have them euthanized. Can anyone help?
2 Just look at these adorable faces on these rabbits! Please contact Kim Dewoody - President of Leaps & Bounds Rabbit Rescue Inc at www.leapsandboundsrabbitrescue.cfsites.or call them at 916-782-8669 and they will direct you. Double click on the pictures to enlarge the picture and get a closer look at these darling little hoppers. If your not available to adopt one of these rabbits, consider becoming a temporary foster home for either Leaps & Bounds Rabbit Rescue - call them at the number listed above or you can foster them under FUR call us at 916-710-0105.
3 15 rabbits that are in desperate need of being placed. They need to get out of the heat and indoors to homes where they will be loved and well cared for. You can see that most of these darlings are babies. Leaps & Bounds Rabbit Rescue is trying to prevent them from going to a shelter where they will more then likely be euthanized. Please help!!!!
4 PLEASE HELP! Have you seen me? I wandered out of my yard in the Folsom area and am lost. If you have seen me please contact FUR at 916-710-0105 ASAP so that I can be returned to my owner. My owner promises to never leave me outside again. Thank you! Call 916-710-0105
5 Tootsie is a sweet playful rabbit. She has personality plus. She has a Queen Bee attitude so she will need to be pampered and treated like the Queen Rabbit she believes she is. She also enjoys hopping all over whoever will give her attention. Tootsie LOVES attention! She loves to reconstruct boxes in her spare time and gets along well with dogs. She is excellent with children and other animals. Anyone with a dog will be required to bring the dog in on a leash so we can be sure the dog has a mellow temperment. She really needs her forever loving home were she will receive lots of attention & be the center of attention. In her last home she had full run of the upstairs. At night she would jump up on the families 14 yr old daughter's bed and give her kisses. She is currently at the Folsom Petsmart on Iron Point Road. 7 Jasper, Cricket, and Molly were taken in by a rescue group that didn't normally rescue rabbits. They had volunteers who were "rabbit people", who took care of these babies. Once the "rabbit people" no longer volunteer these poor babies had no one to love them. Their basic needs were met but they were not given love and attention. Plus, they were housed outdoors. They are all beautiful bunnies but are now receiving some much need socialization. Jasper is the most timid of the group but he's starting to come around. He is afraid of dogs. Jasper is currently at the Folsom Petsmart on East Bidwell. The employees tells us when they arrive before the store opens is when he most enjoys getting love and attention from staff. We think once he has a home of his own his personality will flourish. OFur Rsq 32 Intake date Rescue date

9 Ranger is a darling Castor colored Mini-Rex, male. He enjoys shredding through paper placed inside a box in his spare time. Ranger is an active rabbit. He likes rearranging things in his cage to his liking. He reminds me of a boyscout, he's just missing the bandanna and hat. If this rabbit had two sticks I could just see him rubbing them together to start a campfire. He is a real character. He is much smaller then pictured. His ears most of the time stick straight out to the sides which makes him even more darling. He is currently at the Folsome Petsmart on East Bidwell Road.
