This is how the kitchen was set up when we first moved here in 1984. The hook up for the gas stove was beside the doorway leading into the dining room.

Back door leads into a sort of woodshed. It was cold!
There were no cupboards along the north wall on the left side of the pic.

Our new microwave sits on a 3 drawer dresser in front of the full size north window. We later put in cupboards all along this wall and made the window smaller and put the sink in front of it.
It's 2007 as I write this, and we are still using this same microwave.

In 1984 the sink backed onto the wall shared by the basement steps as you can see by the brown door.The white door in the far background is our front door.

Our kitchen table and chairs were in this corner until we put on an addition at the back of the house in 1991. The window in this pic no longer exists because the wall became an interior wall after the renovation. The back door is to the left.

Energy efficiency testing.
A second test will be done within 18 months for comparison after insulation and siding are installed on south side of house, new windows are added and other improvements.

New umbrella and patio set added to flagstone patio. Rose bush is in a temporary container until stone planter along house is finished. Flagstones will be coated with a sealer after a couple small repairs are done to the grout work.
