Knit and Purl Stitch
2. Knit and Purl Stitch  (March 8, 2006)
Okay, your bestfriend taught you to knit this morning.  She left you with beautiful yarn, two sets of needles and just enough know how to become totally confused.  Get your needles ready, sit and watch over and over again, the clouds will clear and before you know it ... you'll be knitting.
Click on the video or download it to your computer.  There are 5 more videos on my home page, when you click on this video there is a scroll down bar at the top of the page.  Enjoy!

Knitting - Casting Stitches On and Off
3. Knitting - Casting Stitches On and Off  (February 2, 2006)
Have you been asking total strangers to help you get started, driving to the yarn shop on your lunch hour asking, "Please put my stitches on one more time"?  Is your scarf 12 feet long and everytime you wear it, you get a needle in the eye because you don't know how to quit and get those stitches off?
Click on this video, get your yarn and needles together while it downloads, then sit and practice with me.  Have your volume up so you can hear the directions also.  Enjoy!

Knitting Disaster #37
4. Knitting Disaster #37  (February 21, 2006)
I started out with 16 stitches, I know I had 16 stitches ... now there's only 13 and my scarf's gettting awfully skinny.  No teeth gnashing, no hair pulling, no screaming into the woods - just get your knitting, click on the video, tune your volume up and your world out "hey kids, ramen noodles for dinner" and we will get that mess fixed right up.

Knitting - Linen Stitch Part I
5. Knitting - Linen Stitch Part I  (February 23, 2006)
The linen stitch is simply lovely and very easy to make.  The stitch yields a durable woven texture that can be embroidered beautifully.  Part I is the stitch technique and Part II is embroidering on a knitted linen stitch bag.  The pattern and video are available at www.stonyhillfiberarts.com.  Come visit us there.  Happy Knitting!

A Good Day to Dye
7. A Good Day to Dye  (March 4, 2006)
Over the past 10 years I have learned to comb, spin and dye yarn.  With the help of Matt Lochansky we have grown a knitting website with 17 felting patterns.  I have a deep love of knitting and now, an allergy to wool.  Kim Green of Celestial Yarns refuses to let me give up.  She brought her whole family out a few Sundays ago to skein 150 hanks of my yarn so that all I have to do is put on my handy rubber gloves and head out to the dye pots.  I am deeply grateful to the Greens and Jess.
