1 12/28/08, the old barn that Grandpa built came down sometime in the last few days. No one was in it, human or animals, so no one was hurt, thank goodness.
| 2 This is the part the tractor was under, and it survived, thank goodness. May not get it out till spring, but it's ok.
| 3 Just too much snow on the roof. I believe this barn was about 60 years old.
| 4 Poor old barn

25 I've only got two of these that bloom, but they are lovely
| 26 Pink Hawthorne, the smell is sweet but the white Hawthorne has a much stronger scent.

| 28 Our white Wysteria...it's climing up the black walnut behind it, and is almost to the top.

|
29 Close up of the white Wysteria. It has the most incredible smell, and is very strong. When it's blooming, you can smell it from the bottom of the drive way.
| 30 The grandkids love to pick the snowballs, and it's kind of bare after they were here on Mother's Day ;)
| 31 Scotch Broom
| 32 Some people think of Scotch Broom as a weed. When it's hot, you can hear the seed pods cracking open, and see the seeds fly. It's very prolific, and sometimes I think every seed sprouts the next year!

33 Luigi's shed, surrounded by Vinca
May, 2006
| 34 There's some varigated Vinca in there that really stands out, but the solid leaf variety is taking over.

| 39 Snowball bush in fall, with Luigi's shed in the background. We used to have three sheds back there, but they were so old Russ had to tear them down. The kids named them, one was Mario's, one Luigi's, and one the Princess. Only Luigi's shed still stands..

45 You can't see them very well, but the door has puppy tracks on it
| 46 I love the Irish look with the ivy growing on the side of the house.
| 47 La Victoria Rose, in Kaylinn's pitcher. This rose is a very old style rose, planted by Russ' Grandma Elizabeth, as it only blooms once in the spring. Probably planted here in the 1950's. This rose has more petals than you can count, and you cannot see the center. It also has a beautiful old rose fragrance. Each blossom also has it's very own protector, as you can see on the right side. These spiders develop pink spots on the largest part of their body that matches the rose, and they are beautiful. You just have to watch out for them when you pick one.
| 48 Our Hydrangeas, on the west side of the house. They bloom from June thru September.
|
49 This is a medium sized bloom, and it's larger than my hand

| 67 December 18, 2005. We're at the foothills of the Coast Range. The hills have been covered in snow for the past month.
| 68 December 18, our driveway. Wind is still blowing about 10-15 mph, with 20 mph gusts.
|
69 Snow mixed with freezing rain. The ground has been frozen for almost a month, with temps between 17 and 30 depending on the time of day. This is our first snow.
| 70 The wind is blowing so hard I had to take the flag down
| 71 The John Deere, down by the oak trees. Soon the field will be plowed, and the garden will go in.

| 92 IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH
May there always be work for your hands to do; May your purse always hold a coin or two; May the sun always shine on your windowpane; May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain; May the hand of a friend always be near you; May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
