2. Available Art Prints  (November 18, 2004)
*******************************

This album features art prints available from Robbin Fariss Peckham. Robbin started painting in 1987, but has been an artist since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Her mediums today are oil and acrylic, with paintings on canvas, sheet metal, masonite, and more. In the past 5 years she's taken art classes at Portland Community College, and studied under a few signature artists in the area to fine tune her art. Robbin's paintings are in homes across the United States.

Shown below are Limited Edition, signed and numbered photographic prints of Robbin's original oil paintings. Prints are limited to a quantity of 200, and will no longer be available once the series is sold.

Printed on Optijet Premium Glossy Photo Paper, these prints are 8" x 10" in size. They come fully framed behind glass, and some are matted inside the frame. Finished size depends on Frame and if a matte is included. All prints come ready to hang, and some have an easel on the back to set free standing on a table or a desk.

Shipping is done Priority Mail, or UPS. Shipping costs are determined according to the buyer's location and will be added to the purchase price. We insure our prints in case of shipping damage, and have a 7 day money back guarantee. We want you to be happy with your limited edition print.

We prefer PAYPAL. We will accept personal checks and money orders with the print being shipped within 10 days of receiving payment. If you are interested in one of our prints, send us an email at Farissart@Gmail.com

Thank you for considering Fariss Fine Art for your decorating and gift ideas.

Available Painted Sawblades
3. Available Painted Sawblades  (November 18, 2004)
****************************************************

THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE PAINTINGS  AT THIS TIME, PLEASE CHECK BACK

We ship Priority Mail, and insure each saw for it's retail value. Each sawblade is an original oil painting, with minute details that are hard to capture in photos. Many hours are put into painting these sawblades, and often a magnifying glass is used to paint in the fine details on the wildlife. If  you purchase one of these sawblades, we invite you to look closely at the wildlife thru a magnifying glass, you'll be amazed at the detail. Your satisfaction with your purchased artwork is guaranteed.

Painting the Scene:
************************

Each painting is unique, and is an original. Animals, birds, fish, weather, and scenery have been researched, plus their structure & seasonal habits have been studied to ensure the paintings authenticity. Only the best quality oil paints are used, including Grumbacher Oil Paints & Grumbacher Final Finish (non-yellowing) for a lasting beauty for years to come. We want your painting to stand the test of time. My first oil painting on a sawblade was in 1987, and it is still beautiful today. They easily wipe clean with a soft damp cloth, and should not be hung in direct sunlight. NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE.

Preparing the saw:
***********************

The process starts by removing the handle, and applying rust remover to the blade. Then the blade is sanded until 100% of the rust is gone. We then apply 2-3 coats of flat black Rustoleum paint. After the base coat dries for a day or two, the wildlife scene is painted on over the black Rustoleum in an oil medium. If the original condition of the handle isn't attractive, we'll sand it down and torch it or stain it to bring out the grain. Sometimes the handle looks very antique, and fits the scene better untouched. We remove most of the tarnish or rust from the handle hardware, by using a tarnish remover and sanding. We don't cut corners when it comes to preparing the saws, we want these paintings to last. The teeth on these saws are often still sharp, so buyer beware.

SOLD Saw Blades
4. SOLD Saw Blades  (September 10, 2005)
****************************

"All children are artists.
The problem is how to remain
an artist once he grows up."
~ Pablo Picasso ~

All artwork in this album is sold, and it shows only a few of the saws I've painted thru the years. I started painting in 1987, and I've drawn in pencil since I can remember (don't ask how long ago that is!). I'm basically self-taught, although in the past 5 years I've taken some classes to learn more about composition and color, plus painting with good friends is the best inspiration you can get.

I'd like to thank my family, some of my old friends, and the new ones I've made who have purchased my work, or traded smoked salmon, elk steaks, deer steak, or Alaskan halibut for a painted sawblade. I'll never forget your generosity.

I'd also like to thank those friends/family of mine who find the saw blades for me. Your watchful eyes are what keeps me going, doing the work I love. Bless you all!

"Paintings are a beautiful way to express yourself. Often one painting can take months to accomplish. When it's finally finished, to the artist it's like coming home. A sense of relief, and yet a longing to take the journey again as soon as possible. The perfect scene, from the artist's mind to the brush. For the artist it's a familiar place, our own. Our emotions compel us to feelings of possesiveness and pride, yet in the end we let go, hoping the viewer sees what we see. A beautiful place that once only existed in the mind; now a place we can travel back to, again and again."

Robbin Fariss Peckham

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:   Robbin is an artist who thoroughly enjoys wildlife, nature and being outdoors. She started drawing in pencil when she was a child, quickly learning that animals were one of her favorite subjects. In 1987 her husband Russell bought her a set of Grumbacher oil paints and brushes. After completing only a few paintings, she knew that being an artist was more than a hobby, it was her passion. And it's still true today. Her inspiration comes from her home in the Pacific Northwest, at the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range. Some of the wildlife native to this area are Roosevelt Elk, Blacktail Deer, Black Bear, Cougar, Bobcat, Coyote, Fox, Raptors, and numerous waterfowl. Robbin is a member of The Wildlife Artists Netlink.

Education:   Robbin is primarily a self-taught artist. She attended Western Business College after high school, but never forgot her love for art and nature. In recent years she has taken several art classes at Portland Community College, and some private classes as well. She is a dedicated Realism/Representational Artist who is committed to portraying detailed wildlife in their natural habitat. She enjoys taking hikes with her sketchbook, and watching for wildlife. When the Oregon weather kicks in, she's in the reference library at her studio painting, or gathering information on her current projects. This year Robbin will be entering several art competitions and exhibitions, and hopes to keep improving her art.
