| 118 demo for the day,I did this demo to show how I plan, and freehand design a rose border for an irregular shape, also wanted a valentine pattern that could be left up year round...it's about 12" square.
| 119 Santa. This is my demo for this week. He is a little larger than life size. Painted on watercolor paper. The lesson was to teach how to get a smile, showing it in his eyes.....without showing a mouth..
| 120 My demo for the week. Freehanded a French style panel decoration. I use this a lot on Amoire doors, etc. If I do two doors I just reverse the design so it's a mirror image.
|
121 This week's painting demo...a sort of cartoon little girl to show how to get a "young" look, shape of head, placement of eyes, proportions, etc.
| 122 Little mermaid demo finished (names went in hat, Linda won. This is about 2'x3' painted on watercolor patper.
| 123 mermaid face, close...camera flash sort of faded it out..
| 124 I painted this in class as a 30 minute demo.last week on water color paper..using my projector as an aid. Micky won the draw for it...the lion face is about 24" tall.
|
125 After painting murals all week..I decided to do a demo on canvas, for the class. I used a projector and painted these zebra's. They are about 30" high. Everyone put their name in a hat. Terri our hostess won it.
| 126 Linda is painting a window mural for over her kitchen sink. She is allowing me to use her as a model for step by step instructions...thank you dearie! START OF WINDOW MURAL...find a photo of an open window, trace with fine Sharpie Pen onto plastic transparancy sheet (available at staples).
| 127 This is an office quality projector (mine was from a yard sale). Tape plastic sheet to projector, tape canvas (or other surface) to wall. Your drawing is "beamed" at the wall. You can make it the size you want by adjusting the projector.
| 128 Go over the projected image with pencil or brush to transfer the image to your surface. Linda's surface is canvas that she painted with Gesso.
|
129 With painters tape, carefully cover any of the areas that are to remain white. Burnish the edges down with something smooth, so that the paint can't get under the tape. The next step will be to paint the garden scene right over the tape. The tape will be removed at the very end to reveal the white window frames. More next time......
| 130 paint basic landscape right over the blue tape, leaving edges of canvas white.
| 131
| 132 Lind'a window in progress...there will be an overflowing ivy in the bowl...
|
133 Linda has a lot of blue in her kitchen and the blue pottery planter matches her decor, so will fit right in.
| 134 Linda's window, almost done. Linda lives on a lake but has not "view" over her sink. The woodwork in this matches her kitchen woodwork.
| 135 enamel painted mirrors
| 136 My demo for the week...painted on watercolor paper. This was to show my method of blocking in a design then finishing it with highlights and shadows.
|
