Acadia National Park

Arcadia National Park is a great National Wonder. It has some of the prettiest landscape we have ever seen. We took a full day to drive the park's famous 27 mile drive. We saw beautiful gardens, Thunder Hole, Beaver Pond, (sadly, no beavers though) great overlooks to view the local small islands, and a lot more. We began our visit at the park at the visitor's center where we saw a wonderful short video about all the park has to offer. We only wished we could have stayed longer. One day is just not enough time to see all this park has to offer.
Below are listed two great informational websites where you can go to get all the information you want to learn about Acadia National Park. 1. National Parks Service
2. Acadia Magic (Nice site for photos, information and even maps)

Love your pages! My wife loves lighthouses, nature (mainly flora), and photography. I love national parks and bird watching. We both love to travel and Maine and Arcadia N.P. is on our wish list. Check out a few of our pics when you get time. I will update the lighthouse section soon with our Michigan pics. We visited about 60 lighthouses in Michigan.
If you have never been to Michigan to view lighthouses there, we HIGHLY recommend it. There are more there (over 125) than any other state.

This was taken at Beaver Pond. However, we didn't see any beavers. They usually come out closer to nightfall.

We saw this deer up close just by luck. Cheri took this photo. She also spotted the deer in the brush for us.
"Good job Cheri!"

We stopped to read the information here about the lighthouses of the area. Too bad it was cloudy. We could not see Egg Island Lighthouse that was on an island in the distance.
