While we took a break, a couple of guys came through and were on their way to the top of the arch. The white dot at the left end of the arch is one of those hikers.

As we hiked up the canyon we came upon this clump of lupine, which I've usually found in alpine meadows.
The canyon forks at about a mile in. We headed up the right fork for another quarter of a mile or so, and ended up on a little point with spectacular views. This is looking down canyon.

From our vantage point we could see a ruin up against the canyon wall. No doubt about this one.
