Final stage of packing up.  Jugs were emptied before everyone had water so Nick filled the Coffee Pot for last minute pumping.

The trail peters out past the point and we have some brush whacking to do (Nancy, Tracy, and Mike)

A couple of more bends go by and we come to what I call the "Bobblehead" Hoodoo (top right, which is located HERE) View is looking back up canyon

Around the next bend, Fish Canyon opens up a bit - we decide to take a break in a grove of junipers located HERE.

Allan headed out early from our break and got this photo of our break spot.  If you enlarge to original view, you can see Mike starting out.  I took a similar photo in 2007 with Roger Shively approaching the boulder - HERE

Jon & Mike - Packs off break - little did we know that we were almost to the junction with Owl Canyon. You can see the "turrets" on the east canyon wall

Little did we realize that the far off canyon wall seen here is actually part of Owl Canyon located Here  The rounded tower at the right I'm going to call the "Owl Beehive".

Hidden in the sage brush below is the wash from Owl Canyon.  Our eventual camp would be in the cottonwoods to the left of the photo

Pretty soon we arrived at the junction with Owl Canyon.  Our plan was to continue on down Fish and find a campsite with water. I was surprised to see flowing water and large pools at the mouth of Owl as it had been bone dry both times I had been here before.  We decided to camp in the cottonwood grove adjacent. (arrive about 2:00 pm)

Our camp was in this grove - if you look closely you can see Fred in his chair.

Nick and Tracy chose to pitch their tent on the other side of Fish from the main camp. View is looking up Fish Canyon.

Looking back up Fish and Owl Canyon.  If you enlarge photo (original size is best) you will see what appears to be 3 hoodoos that look like statues in a "V" at the center of the photo.  Just to the right of these is Neville's Arch and you can see the sun shining through it. To the left of the "V" you can see the "Owl Beehive"

Finally the darkening skies brought a couple of showers and this rainbow
