Daisy & Puppies

Daisy is a beautiful hound being fostered by Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc. On March 18 she delivered her puppies. These photos follow Daisy and her babies! Enjoy watching them grow!

Momma Daisy In the car with her head resting on the pan with her puppies in it.	What a face! She is a gorgeous hound!	Finally "home" This is really the first time momma and babies were together.	Looking for food! The puppies explore to find a nipple to nurse on!	All better! After a little guidance from the humans they all found a place to nurse.
Little girl This is the one that was stuck in the birth canal and needed to be removed. She's having a hard time but is actually pretty active all things considered!	Daisy	Cozy with momma	Little boy He has shown a preference for being in the less furry areas!	Happy family Daisy underwent a c-section and spay so is pretty sleepy still.
Alone time Even puppies need a little time alone - and not being crawled on by their big sister!	What a sight! All quiet - no crying or whimpering. All is well!	Little girl The weakest of the three. She had a hard time being born and seems to be struggling a bit.	Feeding! Although she is nursing from momma this little one also needs supplemental feedings to help her gain strength.	Big girl! The biggest of the three! She is very active and not wanting to sit still! UPDATE - this little baby went to the bridge on her second day of life. Rest in peace little one!
Cailin Rest in peace Cailin. ATB 3/19/09.	Little boy He's pretty small compared to his big sister. Not as active and just content to latch on to momma and whine a bit as he nurses!	Everyone in their place!	Resting peacefully	"MORE!" Big girl is on the hunt for more to eat!

Oh how sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. I am so glad that BBR was able to take on the care of Daisy and her pups. I do hope that the owners learned that it takes more than just a mom and dad to have a litter of puppies. They will be snatched up quickly- and love the pic of Boscoe with the pups!
