Rat Terrier ResQ foster dog. Available for adoption as of 04/07/2008
Cody is a sweet little guy found in the shelter in Madera, California. Cody was a little under weight, very dirty and starving for some tender loving care. I brought him home gave him a bath, he ate a bowl of food and then we cuddle for a few hours.
Cody is 16 pounds of solid muscle, completely housetrained, neutered, up-to-date on all shots; crate trained and good on a leash but needs a little work (sometime car noises scare him). Although he loves to go for car rides. My vet estimates that he is abut 7 years old. Which is still very young for a terrier, he is not a puppy but in fact a very well mannered calm young man.
He is starting to play a little bit with squeaker toys and balls, I think as he gains more confidence with his living situation he will really open up and play. Cody love, love, loves children. He really comes out of his shell when children are around. Unless there are children around, Cody will just hang out in his crate or outside in the dog house. So we believe he would be best suited with a family with young children that have learned how to treat animals. Cody likes to play with squeaker toys, but really would rather have a little girl or boy to hang out with. Cats are also fine with Cody.

I just heard this is your little foster boy. I am so sorry I have been through this once, little Tessa was lost in the woods & sadly they never found her. I will be praying as hard as I can that your little one gets back home safe.
