This is Razzmatazz!
He is just a year old, and deserves a much better life than the one he had before coming to rescue -- wearing a choke collar chained to a dog house with very little care or attention.
Fortunately, he is healthy and fit (and now up-to-date on his vetting). He weighs about 14 lbs.
Love his ticking!
When he first got here, he delighted in running around the yard...
...chasing or being chased by his new foster sister Midori.

He certainly seems to enjoy himself!
For a guy who didn't have a lot of interaction with humans, he is VERY friendly and social, wanting to get in laps... even upon first meeting someone.
In your lap, he relaxes and seems very comfortable.
He was not at all apprehensive about meeting Gary and sitting in his lap.
He is pretty sure being in a lap is where he belongs.

When Razz first came to us, his ticking was VERY apparent, as he had so little hair. Compare the photo at left, taken in June, with this one, two months later. His hair has grown in very nicely, thanks to a good diet and low stress.
Razz does have somewhat of an oral fixation and need lots of suitable chew toys. He delights in ripping apart stuffed animals and sock toys, anhilating nylabones, and working away at antlers and bully sticks.
He LOVES to wrestle with his foster sister!

Watching intently, just in case I decided I wanted to play with him....
Inside the house, he is pretty inquisitive about everything and does still have that puppy desire to explore things with his mouth. But he has learned to respond to "uh-un!" and we are beginning to work on the "leave it" command.
Uh... Razz... this is NOT what we mean when we say to "Get in bed."
Razz's housetraining is excellent as long as he has access to a doggie door (he loves to run in and out!) or someone remembers to take him out regularly. He doesn't yet know how to let you know when he wants to go out, so he does need a set schedule.
Waiting for me to throw the ball.
"Well, are you going to throw it or not? Put away that camera and let's PLAY!"
He hasn't yet learned to catch the ball in the air, but 2 weeks ago he didn't even know about chasing a ball. He is a fast learner.
I think that Razz would pretty quickly learn whatever someone wanted to teach him, as he is tuned in to his person, enjoys novelty, is always alert, and is very food and praise motivated.
Oh, and did I mention focused?
He sure is a handsome fellow.
Razzmatazz loved having our 4-year-old neighbor come over. He also liked her 20-month old sister, although he was too bouncy and jumpy for her and would knock her over in his enthusiasm.

Although he is always ready to go-go-go as soon as anyone, dog or human, is ready to play, he does have an off switch and will settle down nicely for quiet time.
Very focused for his training sessions!
Patiently waiting for his treat.
