This is Addax, who was found as a stray alongside a road. A good Samaritan convinced him that it would safer to go home with her. He had been very skinny and covered in fleas/ticks, so no one was surprised when no owners were to be found.

He is around 5-6 years old.

Addax weighs 16 lbs.

He is a gentle, mellow, go-with-the flow fellow.

Addax is reliably house trained and knows how to use a doggie door.

He walks very well on leash, without pulling and with minimal zigzagging in front of you.

He meets new people with polite friendliness.

His house manners have been perfect. He does not mess with inappropriate things or beg at the table or try to counter surf. He likes to just curl up in his bed near me as I'm working in the office.

He enjoys spending time with his foster sister, Tora.

Tora is a very playful girl, so Addax has learned to enjoy some good-natured wrestling. The two particularly like to play the Bitey Face game, which is always very gentle and amiable.

He will occasionally pick up a toy to chew on.

Unfortunately, Addax tested positive for heartworms so he is now going through treatment. He is expected to be all finished with treatment and ready for adoption in mid August.

If you can wait until then for your new family member, Addax will make a great one!
