1 #1 - GRCH Tanaga Mr X’s Tuff Tinker
Robin M. Lutwinas - Owner (228 pts)
Tinker was born July 22, 2000 from an unplanned litter of one and what a surprise she has been ever since! Her sire is GRCH Four Paws Mr X and her dam is GRCH Lar-Mon’s Tanaga Tinkerbell. Tinker has multiple BIMBS and RBIMBS to her wins, with two of the BIMBS won before her first birthday.
Tinker is a wonderful house dog, as well as show dog. She loves to snuggle next to her mom or dad and get her share of special attention. She is cooperative most of the time with her other doggy house mates.
I am looking forward to breeding Tinker to see what she can do for my next generation of Rat Terriers in the near future.
Tinker is definitely my special girl and I don’t think she will disappoint me. So far she has only exceeded my expectations in so many ways!
2 #2 - GRCH Turn-Esther from Heaven
Susan D. Turner - Owner/Breeder (164 pts)
Esther entered the show ring in March 2003 as a 6-month-old puppy. She became a Champion, May 17, at just over 7 months in Tukwilla, WA and Grand Champion, May 29, in Utah.
Her regal grace, poise and balance quickly swept us away into the unanticipated triumph of being the #2 UKC Top Ten Rat Terrier for 2003.
Included in this success was Esther's accomplishment in October at the ABPT National Specialty. In the first day of showing, Esther received Reserve Best in Show and Best in Show the second day.
Outside of the show ring, Esther is a clown around the house. She likes to watch TV on her pillow and sleep at the foot of my bed. She enjoys traveling and makes friends where ever she goes. Her quiet strength and confidence are present every time she enters a room.
Esther is retired from the show ring but her career is far from over. She is going to work on weig...
3 #3 - GRCH King Pen Prince Louie
Jo Ann Draper - Owner/Breeder (160 pts)
For the smallest guy in the Top Ten, GRCH King Pen Prince Louie did quite well by placing #3 in points!
After promoting Prince for 2 years, we decided in July not to promote heavy this year, therefore we are quite pleased to have finished #3.
Prince enjoys showing and thinks it's great fun to show-off in front of everyone. Prince was bred by Jo Ann Draper. He is out of Grand Champion King Louie (1st west coast Grand Champion) and Champion Tootsie. Prince was born April 23, 2001.
King Pen Kennels is proud to have had the #1 Top Ten Rat Terriers in points for both 2001 and 2002, and #3 for 2003. Prince also won the Best Stud dog at Premier 2003. Some of Prince's favorite activities are: Lure course, go-to-ground Champion in JRTC, terrier races, barking at the goats and horses, hunting for rats and gophers, sleeping in bed with us (under the covers of course), sneaking ...
Glory and praise goes to God for entrusting me with such a special dog as Bailey. When bad things happen, I try to believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Bailey's dam was stolen and lost her life trying to return home. Due to my broken heart, I kept Bailey as a tribute. Good things can come from bad experiences and Bailey is such an example.
Little did I know such a star would rise and shine. RaganRat Bailey Boy was born at our kennel November 1, 2000. At a young age, Bailey demonstrated his reasoning ability like no other pup I had owned. He taught me tricks with his imaginative mind. His antics put a smile on my face and a song back in my heart. Not only did this dog have smarts, but I'd find myself in a trance staring at his handsome physique.
In the dog world, I suppose it could be said he is a dog's-dog (man's-man) with his gentle spirit and kind heart....
5 #5 - GRCH Poochville's Macy Mae Brown
Marcia G. Meyers - Owner (111 points)
Little did I know when I first brought Macy home that she would “rock my world”. I fell in love with her and the Rat Terrier breed. I had thought I’d be content to gain her GRCH title last spring.
Macy really would rather be playing, than strutting around the ring. I was encouraged by others to continue her career in the show ring and see what she could do. 2003 was a quite a year for Macy and myself. We grew together as a team. I think she learned more quickly than I, as to what was needed in the show ring. We had our ups and downs....there was great competition in the Pacific NW last year!
All but one of Macy’s wins came in the last half of the year. She took 13 BOB’s under 12 different judges. Macy went on to take one BEST IN SHOW, three RBIMBS, one GROUP I and three GROUP II. I am very pleased for the both of us to be able to say that in the last months of the ye...
6 #7 GRCH Star's Rebel Without A Cause, BIMBS
Owner: Felicity Trammell Points: 96
What can you say about a dog that has done everything you asked of him and more? Three years in the Top Ten, BIS, RBIS, multiple group wins...Award of Excellence in Top Ten 2002...this boy has always been there! And always goes out and does what is asked of him with a smile on his face and love for his girl in his heart! No one could ask for more! Not only has he excelled in the show ring, but he has shown that he has the potential as a great producer as well.
Two Grand Champions, 4 Champions in one year! Some pups are just now working on their Grand Titles and some are currently in the ring... JD - has always been there for his girl...and no one could love him more than she does!
Jack Frost came in # 8 on the UKC's final list of the Top 10 Rat Terriers for 2003 despite being campaigned for only the last 5 months of the year.
Jack Frost is the very first solid white Rat Terrier in this country to earn his Champion and Grand Champion titles. Kathleen and I are very proud of this youngster.
