Initial excavation and removal of crushed granite material from the pathway.
Work on the pathway was delayed until after the Wreaths Across America ceremony held in early December..
All the old walkway material has been removed. Note the Albacore Shipmate Memorial Block Pathway to the right leading to the flag pole.
The compacted base for the new pathway has been laid down.
Blocks are placed around the fenced dolphin area.

New pavers surround the flag pole in the Garden and mate up with the Albacore Shipmate's Memorial Block walkway.

Pavers and edging blocks give the pathway a finished look.
The first snow fall of the 2015 winter brought work to a halt.
Work will resume when the ground has thawed. To be added is a plastic edging with steel spikes along the entire periphery to retain the walkway shape.
The edges will be backfilled with loam and seeded.
To finish the job, the walkway will be compacted to set and level the pavers and the joints between pavers filled with sand and compacted again.

On 9 March, the block retainers were installed that hold the path shape, the blocks leveled and preparations were made for inserting super sand between the blocks.
