Seggi
Sharon Seggi (pronounced "SEDGE-ee") was a metalsmith specializing in custom art and metal designs. She founded Studio S in Tempe, Arizona in 1994 after receiving her master's degree in Metalsmithing from Arizona State University. Sadly, she battled cancer for seven years before passing in 2007. She was a teacher and mentor, as well as a gifted artist. I am a huge fan of her whimsical figural brooches, and apparently so was Joanne Woodwood--in the Sotheby's "The Joanne Woodward & Paul Newman Collection" auction in 2023, a Sharon Seggi brooch ("Comedy/Tragedy") was estimated to bring $600-800.
