Art Deco Jewelry
Most people think that the Art Deco period was the 1920's (true) but it actually started around 1910 and went well into the 1930's.  Art Deco jewelry used vivid colors and was often geometrical in style.  One of the major makers of Art Deco filigree, or pierced, jewelry as shown on this page was the JJ White Company of Providence, Rhode Island, the famed costume jewelry center here in the US.  They marked this type of jewelry with an "H" with a triangle above and below it, for Helgen Mfg.  JJ White started in 1898 and lasted until the 1970's.  Jewelry shown here was produced in the 1920's.  Other marks used by JJ White were Crusader and Horoscope; the JJ White logo was a "W" in a triangle.
