Frank - another principal of the operation who works with Mike.
This is an actual impound lot for vehicles towed within Brooklyn & Queens. Each section of the lot contains vehicles for different marshalls. Mike was very friendly. They had worked with an action film several years before, which included pyrotechnics on the lot.
I offer 5K for a shoot day, and he came back saying that the amount work required on their end would make it more like a 10K shoot day. They would move vehicles around for us if needed. He may ask that for a prep day, but my expectation is that if a deal was to be worked out, he would like come down on the prep for an all-in figure.
Mondays & Tuesday are the busiest there, and not good for filming. Thursdays & Fridays are the quietest.
Note: the Eastern section of the lot is not picture here.
One very important stipulation is that the plate numbers of the vehicles in the lot cannot be show on camera.
They hold auctions about twice a week.
Lot is 400,000sqf
"Technically I'm not even supposed to let you in here, let alone take picture now" - Frank during scout. |

Soprano's shot here a few years back, paid 10K for day. Discussed 7.5 to shut down for a day. Angel Mentioned something to me about the Soprano's working with him on the taxes - that they took care of it... |
