This was a happy trip. My Uncle Sal got me the tickets for this. His neice is married to Steve Vai, which makes us cousins. Distant cousins, but cousins none-the-less. Anyway, we had a fantastic time. I never really got to thank my uncle Sal for this great day. Sadly, about 3 weeks afterwards, he passed away. I loved my Uncle Sal. He was one of the best guys I had ever met. I'm sure wherever he is now, he is making everyone around him smile and laugh. Thanks Uncle Sal. There's not enough people like you on this planet and that's a friggen shame. I love you and miss you.

1 The Starland Ballroom. Please answer me one question... What the hell is Jimmy Cliff doing on this board?!
2 Notice the VIP pass. That's right. I was a VIP all night.
Very Intoxicated Person
3 Where all the VIP's hang out. We are cooler than you people, so neener neener neener!!!
4 The stage as the crew packed everything up. Unfortunately we were too far away from the stage to get any good shots during the show, not to mention the fact that you weren't supposed to be allowed to take pictures. I wasn't a big fan of this place, but the show was great.
5 Me, my brother Jason, and my dad. I actually thought my dad was gonna be bored and hate the music. His favorite artist is Elvis Presley. Not quite the same as Steve Vai, ya know? Turns out he actually liked it and was impressed by the way Steve played the guitar. I'm impressed my dad had such an open mind. This METAL face is for you dad! 6 "I wrote this for all my friends."
The audience is listening.
7 Freddy and I showing we are serious metalheads. Jason must agree since he is letting me know that I am #1. Yeah, I know I rock.
8 Steve Vai is signing a guitar for the lucky winner of a Guitar World contest. He got VIP passes to the show, a brand new guitar, a personalized autograph from Steve Vai on the new guitar, and some nice photos and memories. Aww. That Steve Vai. What a nice little boy.
9 The Man! The Myth! The Legend!
Steve Vai.
10 Jason showing Steve how Metal he can be.
We exchanged a few quick stories about our Uncle Sal and told Steve we would see him for Thanksgiving this year. Thanks again for getting us the tickets, Uncle Sal! You rock!
11 After we said our goodbyes to Steve, I saw Legendary Bass player Billy Sheehan standing in the middle of the Starland Ballroom floor. I told my dad that I "HAD TO" go meet him. I liked him from way back in the day when he was in Mr. Big. Although I have to admit I actually liked the band, I knew he was too talented to play for a glam-rock band like that. It's good to see he moved on and is doing well. And a little FYI, he's an amazingly nice and funny guy.
12 Jason didnt actually take a picture with Billy. We just cut out the picture he took with Steve and superimposed him into this one. LOL
just kidding, but it is frightening how exact he looks in both pics.
13 Flash and Billy! I can't say enough about how nice Billy was to us. When we left, my dad turned to me and said, "nice call." My dad really enjoyed meeting him and walked away smiling. That's what it's all about, isn't it?
