Magellan left us on November 25, 2009, the day before Thanksgiving. We will always remember this most wonderful of cats, and be thankful that he shared our lives for 19 years.
All of these pictures are of Mags in his later years, from about 17 on. I have older ones, but they'll need scanning.
Mags was an Ocicat. They are smart, inquisitive, and friendly toward strangers. They're said to be more like dogs . . . that was very true. He wanted nothing more than to be with us.
What a beautiful boy!
The best cat ever.
Mags and Kyoto, in separate chairs.
Feline serenity.
Mags was so beautiful in the sunlight. His spots were gorgeous.
Mags frequently tried to stow away in our luggage.
Aw, Mom, can't I come?
Really. I'll be good.
Mags was not a real 'bag' cat (that was Jezebelle), but for some reason, he found this Whole Foods bag fascinating.
What a face.
Oops, you found me.
Keeping Jeff company while he recuperated from his fall down the stairs (November 2008).
Mags was an anti-literary cat, as are many felines. He would block text, with his very body, if necessary.
Mags and Kyoto.
With flash this time.
Kyoto is a cat's cat; she is not very warm towards us (except for once in a while). But she loved to curl up with our other cats. Well, except for Bose. She didn't care for him.
Mags and Kyoto.
Mags lolling in the sun again.
Me and my shadow.
Stretched out into several zip codes. One of his nicknames was "long tall kitty."
Let's see if I can reach the back of my ear.
Yep, got it.
Now, my face.
I must dampen my paw precisely, to do the job right.
