Joe,
I don't see an e-mail address for you in here, but if you're willing to answer a few questions about WC55's I'd sure appreciate it.

I just started working to get our family WC52 up and running well again (it hasn't been used a lot in the last 40 years after being a mainstay of ranch operations for about 20 years).  As I started pulling things together, it has become clear to me that this is probably a WC55, not a WC52.

Anyway, if you can spare a little time, please drop me an e-mail at Alaskapa12@gmail.com,

Thanks,
Kenneth Martin

Ammunition box for WC-55. Note the hinge is offset to the right. This box fits in the left rear bed corner. The box for the right rear location has the hinge offset to the left, and the two front boxes have centered hinges. All four are otherwise identical.

Close-up of box hinge. The hinge is a unique type with extra distance from the edge of the lid to the hinge pivot point to allow the lids of the rear boxes to hang vertical when opened.

Bottom of ammo box. Just like the embossed lids, the bottom pan is a rectangular sheet with the corners snipped off at 45 degrees, then bent down 90 degrees.

The hat channel risers also have a heavy steel internal block spot welded in place. This is tapped to accept bolts that come up through the bottom of the ammo box sumps in the bed.
