2004 Pieced Flowers This quilt is machine pieced and quilted and was completed in 2004. it was part of a quilt challenge from the Athens Piecemakers Quilt Guild in Athens AL. The rules were the use something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. My something old are the corner "9 patch" blocks and old and traditional block. My something new is the top and bottom center blocks which I designed on my Electonic Quilt software package. My something borrowed is the center block which came from a paper piecing class I took in Winchester TN months prior to this challenge. Of course my blue is the blue fabric. The center is from a pattern and the rest is all an original design i created on EQ and then paper pieced.

2000 A True Mystery I made this quilt over the Christmas holidays in 2000 after a year of working on quilts. I decided I wanted someone else to tell me what to do on my next project so I opted for a mystery project. A mystery is where you are given general guidelines for fabic selection and then then get directions online each week in what to cut and sew up until the blocks are eventually made and set together. That's when you know what a quilt pattern is. The fabric guidelines were to select dark medium and light fabrics. I used some ugly fabrics because in small doses ugly isn't so bad. If its still ugly it's just not cut small enough. It is machine pieced and machine quilted on a domestic sewing machine.

2013 She's Tickled Pink Mom wanted a new quilt so I had her look at my many unfinished projects to see if there was one she would like me to finish for her. Of them all I thought she might select this one and she did. It wasn't until I looked at the finished quilt in a picture that I discovered a big mistake. Oh-well. She's tickled pink to have it and I'm ticked pink to have another project finished. "I actually reall..." View Comments...

I didn't have a specific purpose for this quilt when I finished it but I just gifted it to someone very special and will say more the next time I post. UPDATE: This quilt went to my Cousin Karen Billings who sees this site so I couldn't post it until after she received the quilt. I haven't seen her in over 30 years but she is dealing with a major health issue and Mom asked if I had a quilt I could send her and since I just finished this one she became the new owner.

2015-Lily's First Quilt Over the new year I taught my 5 year old granddaughter to see. I hauled my machine and scraps to FL. wD shopped at Joanns and she picked out lots of fat quarters for her quilt. There aren't many .25" seams in this quilt but we had fun just stitching the blocks. I trimmed them down to 6.5" squares and set them for her. I quilted it and mailed it back to her finished. She is now also the proud owner of a Janome Jem her grandma bought her for sewing classes while we're not together.
2015-PL Donation I worked really hard to downscale my projects this year and donate and gave away stuff. I was one block short of a finish on this so I finished it and donated it to Project Linus for them to gift to someone. It was a block of the month (BOM) started at #Patches and Stitches quilt shop in HSV AL.
2015-Welcome To The Family I'm not sure that's the name I gave it. This was a #BonnieHunter mystery quilt I finished for my grandsons and his new brides wedding gift. When I asked her colors she said leopard and red. It's not leopard but the colors fit so this worked. Im glad I asked because I originally had another mystery in mind to finish and it would not have fit her colors at all.
2015- And The Lord Created Baby Girls Mom was doing her room in pastels. I don't work in pastels but had enough hidden in my fabric stash to pull this one together for Elinna Faye born in July. I enjoyed it so much and really liked how all the various pastel prints worked together. They did not originally go together but I'm not afraid to mix unlikely fabrics and see what turns up.
2015-Rescue Us I picked up these cute dog and cat rescue panels at a show and made the scrappy string blocks to go with them and created this original quilt for the local animal shelter to raffle off this year. I think it's one of the prettiest I've made them over the years.

2015-Polyester I didn't make this quilt but I did quilt it for a friend. I panicked when I saw it was polyester because I'd heard such horror stories about quilting them. It wasn't as bad as I heard and I learned a lot working on this. It amazed me how vibrant the colors were and how heavy it ended up.

2016 Allitere #BonniwHunte 2015 mystery quilt. I decided to try something different. I doubled the size of each block thinking I would only need 1/2 the number of blocks to still get a large quit. This turned out to be 130" x 98" and I didn't even use half of the large blocks. No border required.

2016 Emerald Isle remake The original quilt made in 2003. Returned to me for repairs 10 years later. I opted to make my BIL a new quilt instead and held on to this much loved quilt. I saw a Katie Fowler episode on The Quilt Show and she cut into an award winning quilt and remade it with those cut pieces. I remembered I had this worn quilt and decided to try her technique. I used flip and stitch to cover up all the worn ares on the original quilt and turned those 5" blocks into this soft and cuddly quilt. I'll keep it for many years to come.

2016 Horsin Around Yes I spelled that correctly. |
2017 String Quilt Repaired This sweet string quilt came in for repairs. The owners dog did some major damage and there were holes everywhere. I let it hand for several weeks as I looked at it and pondered a solution. The string circle bubbled to the golf my mind and here is the result. Circles on both the front and back gave the quilt a fun new design element. The owner loves it.
