SAN DIEGO - NOVEMBER 2008
Lea and I spent the weekend of November 22nd in San Diego, a favorite city to visit once a year or so.

The weather, and light for photography, was foggy the first evening and next morning, but got lighter and more pleasant every hour thereafter.

This is the largest luxury liner I have ever seen, docked at the pier within blocks of the city center.

Much the same as when I was a Boot in 1943 the huge grinder (parade deck) at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, formerly named Marine Corps Base.

The buildings along the grinder have been placed in the National Register of Historic Places, by the Dept. of The Interior.

Near dusk on second day, the Marina behind the hotel loaded with private boats.

Day is done, time for cocktails on the boat.

For a few bucks, dine at Roy's patio on the beach walk behind the hotel.

Boats fill the Marina on a much brighter second morning.

As we were about to check out, a Navy ship heads into the bay.
