JOSHUA TREE SUNRISE
It's hard to not photograph Joshua trees whenever I see them. I want one at home in a pot inside my house. I wonder if it would survive? It's probably too wet outside in the Connecticut climate, though I think it could deal with the cold.

This is actually two shots put together. One exposed for the sunrise and on for some detail in the foreground. I didn't tripod but it was easy enough to blend...

This is my buddy Shaun. He rocks with his Nikon cameras. It's all I can do to keep up with him when shooting scenic shots and, more and more, other types of photography.

FILM SCAN yellow truck 1024
This, obviously, is the truck which is depicted in the previous close up detail photo. The previous shot is digital (Canon 50D) and this was with a thoroughly beat up old film camera (Canon Rebel of some sort) inherited from my departed aunt Pat. I used the EF 24-70 2.8L. It's funny cuz the beat up camera goes for $10 to $15 on eBay and the lens is very very expensive. Unlike  digital camera, each frame, no matter how crappy the camera, is clean and free of dust and the inevitable grimy film which always, without exception, covers the digital sensor. Of course, you can't wipe off a sensor yet... That is why I still consider even the best digital body disposable. That's my speil for today...

DEATH VALLEY DAVID
Death Valley Dave (or David) is, like Jay, an thoroughly interesting character. He was a coach for an Olympic bicyclist and from what I understand, quite the bicyclist himself. He's decided to go off the grid for now, which is his preference for whatever reason. He has created a lot of art in Darwin and I found myself envyous of certain aspects of his life.
