IMG 3292 7D # 4 that's all. There weren't any sheep in Fruita Valley again this year except for small numbers and they were not where a good photos could be taken and very scarce at that.
| IMG 3284 7D Do you know what kind of bird this is?
| IMG 7636 Nice!!
|
IMG 7613 Got a photo of this guy up close. One of my favorite photo's. He had done a few head butts in the past for sure.
| IMG 5079 These 3 pictures were taken on November 4th while looking down into Fruita Canyon by looking over the side of the canyon from a pull out close to the top. The next two photo's were taken from below them at the Balanced rock turn out.
| IMG 5080 This shows the small ram stopping before it went off the ledge.
|
IMG 5100 This shows them all feeding.
| IMG 5183 This photos and the next one show the sheep from below after I'd driven down the canyon to just below where they were.
| IMG 5121 This young sheep was going up the canyon now.
|
IMG 5271 This young ewe was in front of the others. #6 of 6
| IMG 7142 It was raining the 5th of November when I took this photo. There was this ram a small yearling ram and two ewes. This photo is 1 of 10 taken that day.
| IMG 5195 They gave me several poses. Their coats were pretty wet but they didn't seem to mind.
|
IMG 5198 This guy was a real ham and wasn't to weary. A good telephoto lens helps to.
| IMG 5203 I finally had to just drive away because they didn't move very much.
| IMG 5218 He was chewing and I tried to get him not chewing but it is hard to time it right every chew.
|
IMG 5229 I like this pose.
| IMG 5220 He gave one of the ewes a strong gaze, trying to impress her but she didn't seem to notice. (at least she didn't react enough for me to catch it) I didn't hear her whisper anyway.
| IMG 5232 This is one of the ewes.
|
IMG 5254 Glad the leaves were off this bush. He wasn't hiding very well it seems.
| IMG 5266 He was slowly grazing his way up the hill to the right. #10 of 10

IMG 5616 These photos were taken the 10th of November. They were above the first curve up from the Fruita entrance to CNM. 1 of 7 photos...
| IMG 5627 There were about 18 in this bunch and they were just at the edge of a shadow on the first left hand curve after the entrance to CNM on the Fruita side.
| IMG 5628 They were scattered up and down the hill.
|
IMG 5632 The Ram was sticking close to the ewe with the radio collar on.
| IMG 7333 This is a close up of two of the ewes
| IMG 7334 They were bunched up all along the shadowed part
|
IMG 7335 I decided it was time to go up the hill to see if more sheep were up farther
| IMG 5633 I ran onto about 18 or so sheep on the 11th of Nov. This is the biggest ram that day.
| IMG 5637 This is a long distance shot of the same ram.
|
IMG 5640 I think he is a middle aged ram since he didn't have any of the scars and scraps on his horns like the older ones have. He is a handsome ram I'd say.
| IMG 5644 These are the young and older ewes that were with him that day.
| IMG 5646 This young ewe seemed to be posing for me. She wasn't that far away and they didn't seem to notice me.
|
IMG 5647 A younger one close up.
| IMG 5650 This bunch was in this little valley for quite a while.
| IMG 5680 When the ram started up the other they side they all seemed to be following him.
|
IMG 5685 This was a lively bunch and they were grazing as they went down the hill.
| IMG 5697 After this the ram slowly started up the other side.
| IMG 5699 He came to this point and it seemed he took a little time deciding where he wanted to go.
