Washington and Oregon
Ater leaving Yellowstone we crossed Idaho and north up through Oregon to Snohomish, Washington to visit another niece and a nephew and his family for a couple days. A nice visit there and a great meal of elk. Got to see some of my great neices artwork, which was a real treat. After leaving there stopped at Mt. St. Helens on our way back south to the Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon border. The mountain was pretty obscured that day by drizzle but was worth seeing. We spent about three days at the gorge visiting the sites and checking out all the waterfalls in the area. Also got to see Mt. Hood and ate plenty of the delicious fresh fruit grown locally. From there we spent a couple days in the Prineville, Or. area practicing our rock hounding interests. Then we headed on out to the coast near Newport. The next two weeks we spent working our way south down the coast.
