Mexico's Copper Canyon
Our trip began in Arizona and continued into Mexico, through the Sonoran Desert. In El Fuerte we boarded the Chihuahua Pacifico train for our journey into the canyon system of six gorges, four times larger than the Grand Canyon, home of the Tarahumara Indians. Before returning to Arizona, we visited the archeological site of Paquime, a remnant of the Chichimeca civilization.
