CALIFORNIA DESERT - 2009 A favorite annual activity is our visit to the desert, usually in February or March.  This year we took a house for March at the Woodhaven Country Club in Palm Desert, CA.  From there we visited Palm Springs, La Quinta, Indio, and all the towns in the Coachella Valley. This year we had a lovely house on the  7th fairway, a long par 5, and from our patio we enjoyed watching the passing parade of golfers, birds, and the background of mountains and changing colors of the sky. Almost all of these photos were taken from the patio or our car, as I was recovering from a back injury which limited my mobility.  My intent was to capture the warmth and color of the winter desert, and share the special kind of beauty and charm that gives the valley its reputation as a winter resort destination.
