BIG SUR & CARMEL BY THE SEA
Here is a collection of photos from our road trip to Carmel and Big Sur last week.  Highway 1 is closed to through traffic, requiring travel to Carmel via Salinas.  Once in Carmel, one can drive south on Hwy 1 for 64 miles to the closure, and that was enough to get us past Big Sur and to enjoy miles of stunning views.

It's hard to say which landscape feature is most prominent, the ocean or cypress trees?

The enlargements appear 800x600px (large)and may be viewed larger by clicking the "original" option in the text below the images.
