1 Meet Tootsie!
2 Tootsie is a happy, smart, curious girl who loves to be near her person and is liberal with kisses.
3 Pretty early on, Tootsie claimed the chair next to foster mom's desk as her own. She's saying "I'm right here. Pay attention to me, please."
4 Tootsie wasn't used to leash walks, but she likes going out to explore every day. She isn't consistent in pottying on leash, so she needs a fenced yard. She does great on a schedule and hasn't had any accidents in the house. This little princess prefers you go out with her, thank you very much. She is pretty prompt once she's outside.
5 She looks forward to a walk in the park or around the neighborhood everyday. As soon as I grab the car keys, she's right there at the door, tail wagging, ready to jump in the car. She loves to go along with me on errands and check things out.
Download MOV 6 Here she and her foster sibling are tuning into the neighborhood news as they check out who's already stopped by.
Download MOV 7 She's so good at sticking close, that one day I decided to see how she would do walking off leash. She had a blast in this local park where many dogs play off leash.
Download MOV 8 Tootsie doesn't seem to have been taught any commands but she pays attention and has learned "stop," "come," and the all-important "go potty." As you can see in this video, her recall on command is excellent. She listens to her person and has quickly learned not to get too far in front of me.
9 One day after our walk on the trails, I took them with me when I stopped at a local HomeGoods. She didn't like riding in a cart along with foster bro, but was perfectly happy to walk beside me while I browsed and not at all fazed by people in the store. She accepted all greetings from the other shoppers as her due.
10 She waited patiently until I finished my browsing and stayed quietly in line until it was our turn to check out. No pulling or whining. She's a very good girl at home and in public.
11 At home, Tootsie will find a spot close to me to snuggle into. She's quiet and patient while I am working, but she'll jump up and follow me around the house when I move.
12 One day after coming back in from a walk, the afternoon sun was hitting the heated floors just right, and Tootsie decided it was even nicer for an afternoon nap than her usual spots.
13 Tootsie is comfortable in her crate but she's so well-behaved that I give her the run of the house. I've had no issues leaving the pups alone and unsupervised while I'm running errands. She's very excited when I get back and greets me at the door. Tootsie is fine by herself for an hour or so but she wants a home where her person is around most of the time.
14 Tootsie will bark to let me know if anyone approaches the house or when she gets excited, but she is otherwise really quiet.
Download MOV 15 Tootsie gets along nicely with her foster sibling and she was very affectionate with her brother when she first came into rescue. As attached as she is to her person, she would be happy to have a canine sibling to play with. Here she is trying to play with foster bro. He's a bit older and doesn't have game!
16 Tootsie is a smart, gentle, moderate energy girl who is happy to hang out on the couch but ready to be your wingman on any adventure you're up for.
17 It's been a long day!
18 Tootsie is patiently waiting for her person to take her home. Is it you?
