GOING TO IONA ABBEY Below are photos of our ferry rides over to the Isle of Mull from Oban and to the Isle of Iona from the Isle of Mull. You can see by the photos how blue the water was. Also, the water seemed quite clam as compared to the day before. We were told it was rainning off and on the day before. Date(s): our ferry rides. Looking out over the Oban Bay from the town. The tour shop, located right there on the bay, where we stopped in to get our tickets and information. Leaving the bay of Oban, on the ferry, for the 45 minute ride to the Isle of Mull. On the ferry, on the deck Candy waiting to see Iona AND THE PUFFINS! Dennis watched from the viewing windows inside the ferry. He said it was too cold on the outside deck! (PS.. and it was over 100 degrees at the time in Los Angeles! LOL) WHAT BLUE WATER! Duart Castle located on the Isle of Mull embarking the ferry at the Isle of Mull In the bus for the ride to the end of the Isle of Mull. (about a 45 minute ride) We saw these Sheep on the way. (That's about all we saw too, not many homes just beautiful green hills.) Small village where we got off the buses and took another ferry to the Isle of Iona. Getting on the ferry for a 5 minute ride over to the Isle of Iona. On the ferry for a quick ride over to Isle of Iona. He we are coming into the small port to disembark onto the Isle of Iona. We see Iona Abbey as we left the ferry. It was right there! Looking back at our ferry as we walked to Iona Abbey.
