Stoney is a 2-year-old, 12 lb. shy fella who was picked up as a stray. With his beautiful blue tri coloring and docked tail, he appears to be a purebred Rat Terrier.
Stoney was picked up as a stray and was taken to a county animal shelter in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
He was kept in a hallway cage to protect them from the "general population" where smaller, more fragile dogs might come down with kennel cough or other respiratory diseases.
Stoney was described as "terrified" in the shelter.
0:33However, the shelter staff also said, "He's perfect. He loves to cuddle. We can pick him up and snuggle him. Zero aggression. He's picked up multiple times a day to have his kennel cleaned."
On October 9, Stoney and another New Rattitude rescue dog were flown to freedom from Atlanta, Georgia to Lansing, Michigan, courtesy of Pilots n Paws.
Saying thank you to Myles, the pilot that flew the two dogs from Lexington, KY to Lansing, MI.
Stoney is healing from his neuter. He'll be happy when he doesn't have to wear the cone!
Stoney is very sound sensitive to both indoor and outdoor noises. This was his reaction when he heard the coffee grinder. Thankfully he is used to it now and no longer cowers in the corner.
0:29This was Stoney's first walk on leash. He is afraid of anything unfamiliar so I was really proud of him! He walks best on nature trails, open fields, or other quiet, unpopulated spaces.
Mr. Handsome!
Stoney is a cuddler. He enjoys being with his people and will relax by your side.
