My friend Russ, a Navy Doc, was stationed in Afghanistan. These pictures are in approximately chronological order from training in April to His last e-mail before shipping out on 2/23/07 that reads: I am out of here tommorow, heading to Bagram to get on a flight to Kuwait where I will outprocess. See you all on the flip side."
It is not just the pictures of his life in Afghanistan that tell a story, but the diversity of his selections of subject matter from Generals to Mujahadeen to close-ups of Morning Glories and roses. The captions were provided by him and the photos are originals with light PhotoShop work by me, like removing the green window tint from the car he is riding in (windows have to be up) to lightening, or adding some contrast to make details more visible. (Forgive me ... I've even cropped some :). The pictures seem to get more scenic as time progresses.
Thank you!
