1928 Jewelry Company

The 1928 Jewelry Company started producing jewelry in 1968 to present. They also produce a line that is marked 2028. Because the jewelry that they produce is based off vintage designs in a lot of cases it is important to recognize the texture that they use. I have read that this was intentional so that their pieces would not be mistaken for older pieces and I have read that it was a matter of economics. It is less expensive to produce a textured backed piece as a solid backed piece. For whatever reason the texture they use is distinctive but can look different based on the shape of the piece.

A special thank you goes out to Somerville33 for providing so many examples of this companies work.

This texture has been described as swirls, vines and feathers but it is distinctively 1928.  It can appear different depending on how much space is available for it to be stamped on.

This texture is from the 1980, per Somerville33, who has this same pin on the original 1928 card.

Note the sun ray type texture on this piece.  This is a different texture than the one we normally associate with 1928 jewelry.

Note that all though the carousel has the texture that we are use to seeing with 1928 jewelry, the horses do not.

Note the different texture and construction on this piece.  It almost looks like a Lisner brooch.

Again a different texture on this 1928 piece.
