Linen Postcards of American Airports
Linen postcards have always been a favorite of mine and there are many linen postcards of airports around the United States. I've listed them in alphabetical order by full state name. I don't have them all but I have a list of 541 different linen U.S. airport postcards made between 1931 and 1958. There are states with no listings because I have not found a linen airport postcard for that state. The back of all the cards are shown as well as what company made the card along with the inventory number from that company. The publisher of the postcard is not mentioned, only the company who actually made the postcard. If the card maker is not on the card I'll list publisher information to identify the card. One of the main card manufacturers was the Curt Teich Co. later shortened to Curteich. Their cards can be dated from the first two digits of their inventory number. For example the card 5C-H565 is from 1955. The 5 is the year; the C is the decade. A=1930's, B=1940's, C=1950's. There are a couple of exceptions which I'll mention with the card. Beneath the front of the card I'll mention any airlines with identifyable aircraft on the card.
