Enlarge photo 1 Early step of building headers. Elbows tacked to flanges, more ends added to elbows, ends trimmed and tacked together.
Enlarge photo 2 Pic of fit in truck.
Enlarge photo 3 Intake manifold test fit, taped together.
Enlarge photo 4 Showing clearance to frame
Enlarge photo 5 Finished headers.
Enlarge photo 6 Headers and intake, painted with red 'ceramic' coating. Hearers turn black in first ten minute drive. Intake looks good, I like the contrast.
Enlarge photo 7 Note the loop in the center intake runner, tried tomake it nearly as long as the end runners.
Enlarge photo 8 With the stock B&B carter. Made NO gain on the dyno over the stock breathings system. On the street, wound up in 3rd gear, it made two inches of intake vacuum. Waaaay tooo much.
Enlarge photo 9 Carter BBD 2bbl off of a 318, about '78. I'm hoping for 65 hp to the ground. Feels like I made it, but haven't had it back to The Dyno Shop.
Enlarge photo 10 2bbl, with air filter. Note the fabricated adapter from the one bbl manifold to the 2bbl. Works OK.
Enlarge photo 11 Dyno run, before the two bbl install.
